Music at St. Matthew’s
The heritage of music in the Anglican tradition is one of our parish’s greatest gifts to the missionary and spiritual life of the Christ’s Church. Since the sixteenth century, trained choirs of children and adults have led Prayer Book worship throughout the Anglican Communion, and it is so today.
St. Matthew’s choirs and musicians cover a diverse range of style periods and genres in addition to the Anglican Choral tradition. St. Matthew’s regularly hosts renowned musicians in concert.

St. Matt’s Ringers
St. Matt’s Ringers is a handbell ensemble that rehearses on Sundays from 12:10 to 1:00 PM and rings approximately every 6–7 weeks at the 10:30 AM weekend liturgy. Anyone with basic music‑reading skills is welcome to join and learn to play.
Handbells offer a wonderful opportunity for those who are musically inclined but prefer not to sing in an ensemble. We currently have three open positions, and no prior handbell experience is required. Foundational techniques will be taught individually.

The St. Matthew Parish Choir is composed of both volunteer singers and professional staff musicians. Its repertoire spans five centuries, with particular emphasis on the rich standards of the Anglican choral tradition. The choir provides music for the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service and offers occasional Choral Evensong and other special services throughout the program year.
Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, September through May.
